Job Details

Our client, a US headquartered technology company, is now seeking to appoint its first in-house lawyer based outside of the US. Located in their West London office, this represents a rare opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to play a critical role, working in a fast paced environment, as the sole counsel for the international business; working closely with the International GM, international sales team and US based legal team.

The ideal candidate will possess a commercial awareness and have experience of working with commercial teams on a range of commercial and government contracting matters. As the only member of the dynamic global Legal and Compliance team, based outside the US, you will be relied upon by the General Manager of the international business as well as other key stakeholders in the international business across EMEA and APAC, to help the international business execute their mission. In addition, you will also have exposure to general legal issues that arise on a day to day basis across their international remit.

We are keen to connect with in-house commercial lawyers, with a combination of legal expertise gained from training/working at a reputable law firm, before making the move in-house to a large public company, working in a commercial role . It is essential for candidates to have prior experience working on government procurement contracts, the willingness to be flexible and the confidence to communicate at all levels. Cross-jurisdictional experience advantageous (EMEA, APAC, LATAM). Furthermore, this role will suit someone who enjoys a diverse mix of work, both legal and commercial oriented, and fully embedding themselves in the business of this fast-growing technology multinational.

Whilst in-house candidates are preferred, our client is open to considering law firm candidates with relevant secondment experience wishing to carve out a career in-house.

Please express your interest and send your CV to snasiri@mlaglobal.com.
