Job Details

Position: Corporate & Commercial (Associate – Partner)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Cheltenham

I’m excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a middle or senior level solicitor who feels ready for a change. If you're currently at a firm where your progression feels stalled but you're looking for meaningful, high-quality work in a supportive and collaborative office environment, this could be the perfect next step.

You'll have full autonomy in your role, working on corporate transactions ranging from £500,000 to £25 million, primarily with UK-based companies connected to the US and Europe. The Corporate and Commercial team handles a variety of work, including mergers and acquisitions, investment agreements, corporate reorganisations, and commercial contracts. Their speciality lies in assisting owner-managed businesses, with around 20% of their work involving commercial contracts of varying complexity and value.

This role is about the future too. There's a real opportunity here to help build out the team with a view toward taking on leadership within the next eight years. With a target of five chargeable hours per day, you'll have the space to strike a balance between professional success and personal well-being.

You will ideally be around 8PQE (strong candidates from 5PQE upwards are welcome), with experience in private equity being advantageous but not essential. For a salaried partner looking for a fresh challenge, this role offers a chance to step into something truly rewarding.

The firm values balance as much as excellence; their friendly, supportive, and collaborative culture makes it easy to thrive professionally while still enjoying a bit of fun along the way. Benefits include regular social events; competitive salary; private medical insurance; income protection; 25 days annual leave + BH; discretionary additional leave (like your birthday off!), and access to wellbeing support.

To apply for this position, please send an updated CV to mohamed.hamza@qedlegal.com. For a confidential chat regarding this position, or an overview of the Southwest legal market, reach out to 07300 236070.
