The Role

Joining an established Dispute Resolution team, you will have the chance to specialise in contentious probate work, contributing to the team's Legal 500-recognised reputation. You will handle a variety of cases, including disputes over wills, inheritance claims, estate administration challenges, and trust disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on all aspects of contentious probate, with a focus on delivering sensitive and practical solutions.
  • Managing a diverse caseload of contentious probate matters, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and disputes over the validity of wills.
  • Drafting and negotiating settlements and representing clients in court when necessary.
  • Collaborating with the Private Client team to provide a joined-up service for clients.
  • Actively engaging in business development to grow the firm's contentious probate offering.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE in dispute resolution/litigation, contentious probate, or private client law.
  • A passion for contentious probate and a keen interest in building expertise in this specialist area.
  • Strong technical skills and a proven ability to manage your own caseload.
  • Exceptional client care skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • Proactive and team-oriented, with a commitment to supporting the firm's growth.
