On the back of doubling their team revenue in the last 4 years, the Construction team are looking to strategically invest with the hire of an experienced Contentious Construction Legal Director or Partner for their Bristol or Birmingham teams.
Your new role
With a broad ranging practice providing comprehensive contentious and non-contentious advice, this team have a diverse client base spanning the housing, local authority, education, health, renewable energy, infrastructure, rail, highways and registered provider sectors. The team advise on a broad range of contentious issues ranging from energy and waste disputes, to major development and regeneration scheme disputes. The team have specific expertise in advising on high profile and novel PFI dispute resolution procedures.
Having been enjoying sustained growth over recent years, they are now keen to strategically invest in their senior capacity with the hire of an experienced Contentious Construction lawyer.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a leading construction lawyer yourself and have developed expertise in handling predominantly contentious construction work (though experience of providing non-contentious advice would be beneficial) and have worked for a leading construction team. Experience of advising clients in the public sector, or clients supplying into the public sector, would be a distinct advantage, though this team is open minded on speaking to senior construction lawyers who do not have this background. You will be used to developing strong client relationships and have a solid network in the construction industry.
What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic career opportunity for an ambitious and skilled construction lawyer looking to join a growing and successful team with bold and ambitious growth plans in place. This role would suit an existing Partner, a Legal Director or an experienced Senior Associate looking for a partnership opportunity. With plenty of headroom, this is a fantastic opportunity for the right ambitious lawyer.
What you need to do now
If you are interested in applying for this position or would like further details, please contact Sheldon Carlisle in complete confidence at Hays.
We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
