Technology Partner - Bristol

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Technology Partner to join an expanding national practice in Bristol. This role offers the chance to work with an impressive range of clients and contribute to the growth of a dynamic team.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be a highly competent and ambitious Partner, with a strong track record in building and sustaining a legal technology practice. The role involves leading and growing the existing team in the Bristol office, providing an excellent foundation for a self-starter to capitalize on one of the fastest-growing technology clusters in the UK.

The firm's Technology team represents a broad client base, from FTSE 100 institutions to disruptive tech start-ups, both regionally and nationally. As part of the team, the new Partner will bring technical excellence, leadership, and a passion for team development. The firm's national Technology team is well-recognized, with a number of lawyers holding the highest rankings in legal directories, and the work is intellectually stimulating and diverse, spanning across key sectors such as technology contracts, outsourcing, data, cybersecurity, and more.

This is a strategic hire to help grow the firm's technology practice, and the successful candidate will be supported in driving business development and team expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the existing technology team in Bristol, working alongside the firm's national team and US colleagues on international projects.
  • Build and sustain a robust client base while generating new business and managing existing relationships.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the national Technology team, with a focus on innovation and developing processes that drive efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Work on a broad range of technology-related legal matters, including technology contracts, outsourcing, implementation projects, data, and cybersecurity.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: A proven track record in building and maintaining a technology-focused legal practice. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in commercial technology and data law, including technology contracts, outsourcing, and cybersecurity.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on team development and client relationship management.
  • Commercial Acumen: A commercial mindset with an ability to prioritize revenue generation and identify growth opportunities within the practice.
  • Market Recognition: A strong external profile as a leader in the technology law field, with a reputation for technical excellence.

Why Join?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and highly regarded technology team. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive culture where success is celebrated, and career development is actively encouraged. The team embraces innovative solutions and technology to enhance both client outcomes and internal processes.

Additional benefits include:

  • A strong support network for business development, with access to sector-specific resources and growth opportunities.
  • Learning and development programs designed to enhance leadership and business skills for senior professionals.
  • A culture focused on health, wellbeing, and work-life balance, with flexible working options available.

The firm is committed to diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. They actively foster an inclusive environment through their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
