*FINANCIAL SERVICES REGULATORY ASSOCIATE - CAYMAN ISLANDS – 3+ YEARS’ PQE*
This major international law firm is actively looking to hire an experienced Financial Services Regulatory Associate to join its dynamic Cayman team. This is a pivotal time as the firm looks to further invest in the development of its flourishing global regulatory practice!
You will join a collaborative team of 30+ regulatory lawyers across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with an established reputation for their expertise in financial services, sanctions, and anti-money laundering compliance. The position would suit a lawyer with expertise in financial services regulatory regimes related to banking, investment management, and anti-money laundering law. Experience in data protection/AI regulation would also be welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will have exposure to some of the best cutting-edge financial services regulatory legal work in the market and will work as part of a highly successful and collegiate team of six partners and 11 lawyers on the ground in Grand Cayman. The key responsibilities for this role include the following:-
Advising clients on a wide range of financial services regulatory and compliance matters such as AML/CFT, beneficial ownership, Data Protection, FACTA/CRS and other international initiatives such as the OECD BEPS regime, as well as contentious and non-contentious advice, such as regulatory reporting obligations
Liaising with regulatory, administrative and enforcement authorities including as part of any client onsite inspections
Researching, analysing and developing policy and legislation
Working with a client base that comprises blue chip domestic and international clients, particularly in the investment, banking and fiduciary sectors as well as all major onshore law firms
Advising in relation to the regulation of crypto and fintech offerings
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong academic record
- Qualified as a lawyer in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Canada, Australia or New Zealand;
- From 3-8 years’ post qualification experience in Financial Services Regulatory law from a leading law firm or top four accountancy firm
- Contentious experience would be welcome (but is not mandatory)
- Good attention to detail, professionalism, ability to multi-task, and excellent organisational and communications skills.
Salary from USD$160,000 - $200,000+ tax-free per annum, with bonus, premium benefits including full health/dental/optical cover and relocation costs. Hybrid/flexi working optional.
