The Role
Our client, a Global Legal and Consultancy Firm, seeks a mid-to-senior Corporate Solicitor with expertise in corporate simplifications and reorganisations to join a dynamic team. This is not a typical restructuring role-it focuses on tax-efficient restructuring, lending structures, and preparing businesses for sale or refinancing.
The position offers unparalleled opportunities:
- Non-competitive route to partnership with clear pathways for growth.
- Access to a high-profile client base, including FTSE 100 companies, NASDAQ-listed firms, and owner-managed businesses (OMBs).
- The ability to develop your own practice in tax-efficient restructuring and potentially build out an M&A offering.
- A collaborative environment working alongside professionals from diverse specialisms, such as IT, private wealth, employment tax, and HMRC litigators.
You will be based in either Birmingham or Manchester, joining a network that includes a presence in Manchester and the broader team in London.
What Makes This Role Different?
- Start your own practice: The autonomy of running your business within the framework of a leading consultancy firm.
- Flexible, hybrid environment: A balance between independence and collaboration, without the high-pressure culture often found in Big Law.
- Exceptional support: From introductions to key contacts in Birmingham and London to access to the infrastructure of a global organisation, this role is designed to set you up for success.
- Exciting work: Handle transactions ranging from £10 million to multi-billion-pound deals, including structuring, lending, and preparation for sale.
Who They're Looking For
This role requires someone personable, entrepreneurial, and confident in their abilities to grow a practice. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in corporate reorganisation, and/or tax-efficient restructuring.
- A background in private practice with the ability to build relationships and sell their expertise to clients.
- An easygoing, collaborative approach-this isn't a high-pressure environment.
- The ambition to grow a corporate practice and build a team around them.
Experience in M&A is not essential but would be a bonus for those looking to expand into this area.
Key Details
- Work model: Hybrid working with three days in the office per week.
- Client base: FTSE 100, NASDAQ-listed companies, and OMBs.
- Billing model: Higher charge rates but lower recovery targets (60-70%), allowing for a balanced approach.
- Supportive landing: Soft revenue targets to give you time to establish yourself and grow your network.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity for a corporate solicitor with 7/8+PQE to take control of their career, develop a specialised practice, and work with some of the most exciting clients in the market-all with the backing of a top-tier global consultancy.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and embrace an entrepreneurial challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now to shape your future.
