The client:

Our client are a global sports betting and entertainment business who own some of the leading consumer facing entertainment and gaming businesses in the market. The team are well established and dynamic in how they operate and it is a great opportunity ot support with some of the below project work and join a friendly and collaborative in-house team.

Key responsibilities:

Principal duties include overseeing contractual matters with existing and future suppliers, participating in RFPs and due diligence reviews of suppliers, providing commercial advice and negotiations on key strategic initiatives and providing day-to-day commercial legal advice. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial and transactional background and be able to apply sound, pragmatic judgement in a dynamic and evolving environment. Other matters include but not limited to:

  • Structuring, negotiating and drafting a broad range of simple to more complex and high value commercial agreements including agreements relating to technology services (such as software licences), creative marketing, media agencies, professional services and purchase/leasing of high value goods.
  • Advising on the commercial implications of existing contractual obligations. Drafting terminations and amendments to existing contracts and suppliers.
  • Resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and queries.
  • Collaborate and supporting on implementing cost saving initiatives such as improvement to internal processes.

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE. Can be qualified in the UK or another jurisdiction but must have well established commercial legal knowledge in-house.
  • Strong free hand contract drafting and negotiating ability.
  • Preferably have recent in-house legal experience.
  • Experience in gambling or other regulated industry is useful but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
  • Pro-active and driven attitude and comfortable liaising with and advising senior management.
  • Able to problem solve quickly by making reasoned judgements balancing risks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and prioritisation skills with a proven ability to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills.

Working arrangements: 2 days a week in London office (Stratford)

Start date: ASAP - Will consider 1 month notice period but preference to start sooner.

Salary: Highly dependent on PQE Level and experience. Please note, day rates will not be considered.

Full time or Part time (4 days a week) will be considered for one of the positions.
