The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Non-Contentious Construction Associate (2+ years PQE) to join a busy and highly regarded construction team in Exeter. The successful candidate will play an integral role in a range of international, national, and regional matters, focusing on non-contentious construction and infrastructure work.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced solicitor looking to work on complex and high-value transactions. The role involves advising on residential and commercial developments, renewable energy projects, urban regeneration schemes, financing arrangements, joint ventures, operation/maintenance/service contracts, and facilities management.

You will be drafting and negotiating contracts, including NEC, JCT, FIDIC, and bespoke agreements.
The firm's collaborative approach ensures that you will work directly with clients from the outset and have high levels of responsibility on significant transactions, allowing you to develop your career in a supportive and professional environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development efforts and grow your professional networks.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Non-Contentious Construction Associate (2+ years PQE)
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure law, including risk reviews, drafting, and negotiating contracts (such as NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
  • Ability to handle complex transactions and provide commercially-focused, practical advice
  • Proven experience in advising clients directly and managing larger, more complex matters
  • A strong team player who enjoys a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and eager to expand knowledge in the construction and infrastructure sector
  • A focus on building strong, lasting relationships with clients and a genuine interest in staying up to date with the latest industry developments
