The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Associate/Senior Associate to join a national team that acts for a wide range of clients across diverse sectors including retail, energy, and finance. As part of the team, you will work on a varied and complex caseload involving high-quality construction projects, providing expert legal advice on matters such as contract negotiation, procurement, risk management, and project delivery.

In this role, you will be part of a supportive and friendly team, collaborating closely with partners and other lawyers, gaining exposure to a broad range of work and building expertise in key sectors. With a genuinely national approach to projects, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across different offices, giving you a rounded perspective and the ability to handle a diverse portfolio of clients.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your business development skills, engaging in networking and marketing activities to raise the profile of the team and the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of non-contentious construction law, including contract negotiation, procurement, risk management, and project delivery.
  • Manage a varied caseload, working on complex projects across a range of sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Work closely with senior lawyers and partners, gaining exposure to a wide variety of work and learning from the best in the field.
  • Contribute to business development activities, participating in networking, client meetings, and marketing efforts.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team, helping them develop their professional skills and providing guidance where needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations, offering proactive legal advice to clients.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years of post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction law.
  • A genuine interest in the construction sector, with a passion for building expertise in construction and engineering contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider success of the team.
  • Ambitious and driven, with a desire to develop professionally and contribute to the growth of the practice.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with a focus on networking and client engagement.
