Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Associate to join a leading offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services regulatory and compliance matters, with at least 8 years' post-qualification experience. Previous offshore / Cayman experience is ideal but not essential.
Hiring Criteria:
- First-class academic background and admitted to practice in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction
- At least 8 years' relevant post-qualification experience, ideally gained from a leading law firm or top four accountancy firm
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills, with attention to detail and professionalism
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and flexible approach
- Excellent client service skills, with ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on regulatory matters such as AML/CFT, beneficial ownership, and data protection
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and conduct research and analysis to develop policy and legislation
- Work with a client base comprising blue-chip domestic and international clients, particularly in the investment, banking, and fiduciary sectors
- Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and risk management, including conducting regulatory audits and risk assessments
- Advise in relation to the regulation of Crypto and Fintech Offerings
- Collaborate with other teams to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory advice to clients
- Stay up-to-date with developments in regulatory law and policy, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
