Senior Tax Compliance Advisor - Edinburgh

This opportunity with a law firm in Scotland is for an individual looking to advance their career in the field of tax compliance. They will be working with a skilled team to provide a highly effective tax compliance service to clients and assist colleagues with tax planning and advisory work. The firm is committed to enhancing the technical skills of the successful applicant through training and support from other members of the team to help develop areas of specialization and to help the firm grow its capability. The role can be primarily remote with the occasional visit to the Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handling a substantial tax compliance workload including self-assessment individuals, executries, trusts, and tax repayment claims, seeking technical support when required.
• Working effectively as part of the tax compliance team, assisting with advisory and tax planning work.
• Demonstrating comprehensive and dependable skills across the range of work you do.
• Providing a high level of client service in all work undertaken, maintaining the confidentiality of client and firm information within the department.
• Building relationships and gain the respect of clients, referral sources, partners and other professionals.
• Delivering on financial targets and agreed goals, appreciating the various demands of the firm and clients and the requirement to deliver cost effective work across all teams and departments.
• Contributing to the profitability of the firm by managing time effectively to maximise the profitability of work and understanding the key financial benchmarks as they apply across the department and team.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience advising on tax compliance to privet clients is advantageous.
