Regulatory/Environmental Solicitor, NQ-4 PQE - Manchester

Think Legal are working on a new role at heavyweight national firm within the Manchester market.  This firm has an excellent reputation in environmental work, working on both national and international matters for blue chip clients.  Covering the full range of environmental issues, both contentious and advisory, they have a unique position in the market offering cutting edge work.

A vacancy has arisen at a firm with a high profile name and capability for handling some of the highest level environmental work around.  Clients are based both in the UK and internationally, providing contentious and advisory work across the full range of environmental issues.  Key work areas include environmental investigations and enforcement, water regulation, waste issues, chemical compliance, ESG, climate change and sustainability.   This is high level and fast paced work, offering a challenging caseload and very much an area of law on the rise.

The team are keen now to hire an ambitious, hungry solicitor, eager to learn and develop.  You will ideally have experience in environmental work, but relevant experience in wider regulatory matters such as health and safety is equally desirable.  You will work with a small team in Manchester, but also colleagues across offices and internationally on multi-jurisdictional projects.  You will find the work challenging and hugely varied, working closely with other teams including real estate, planning, corporate and health and safety.  An eagerness to engage with clients is also key, as this is very much a client facing role with an ability to build close working relationships from day one.

The key is enthusiasm for the area – an interest in environmental law/ESG is invaluable and training will be fully provided to candidates with a genuine interest and background (even without experience of environmental work in a legal setting).  This is a busy, fast paced but collegiate team, which can offer excellent work and push a driven candidate to fulfil their goals and career aspirations.  A ‘can do’ attitude, enthusiasm and team work is key.
