A new and exciting career opening for a senior level common law qualified Financial Services Regulatory Associate to join a major global law firm in the beautiful offshore jurisdiction of the Cayman Islands!
Our client is arguably the world’s leading offshore law firm with a strong brand and a large network of offices around the world.
Its Cayman office is dynamic and respected, with a very strong pipeline of work in its key practice areas of banking and finance, corporate, insurance, regulatory and litigation.
It is now looking to hire a common law qualified regulatory associate to assist a prominent Financial Services Regulatory and Financial Services partner on the ground in Cayman. The Regulatory & Financial Services Practice focuses on regulatory matters impacting asset managers, investment funds (both open and closed-ended), banks, administrators, family offices and high net worth individuals.
Work will include a wide range of financial services regulatory and compliance matters such as AML/CFT, beneficial ownership, Data Protection, FACTA/CRS and other international initiatives such as the OECD BEPS regime, as well as contentious and non-contentious advice, such as regulatory reporting obligations and crypto and FinTech matters. You will advise financial services businesses on the evolving international regulatory landscape and also the existing regulatory framework in Cayman.
Requirements for the role are as follows:
- Qualified as a lawyer in the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand;
- Strong career background from a major national or international law firm in a major financial centre such as London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland;
- From 6-12 years' post qualification experience in Financial Services Regulatory;
- Personable, and versatile approach, with excellent team working skills.
