Our client is a major offshore law firm with a stellar client base. It has offices in many key global financial centres including London, and Dublin, Hong Kong, and Dubai, as well as the global offshore markets such as Cayman, BVI and the Channel Islands.
This is an excellent career opportunity for an ambitious UK/Common Law Qualified Associate to join its top tier Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice in Jersey. The team advises major financial institutions, trust companies, regulators, public authorities, prosecutors and high-net-worth individuals on the full range of their contentious needs.
This is a general commercial role focusing on complex and cross-border commercial litigation disputes. Emphasis will be on cross-border issues relating to general commercial disputes, insolvency, fraud and asset tracing and some trust litigation. Working with several of the firm’s Partners you gain excellent global litigation experience with the opportunity to progress quickly through the firm's ranks. As part of a dynamic team, you will also play an important part in building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and other advisors.
Suitable applicants will have the following profile:
- Qualified as a Solicitor in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand (or an offshore jurisdiction such as the BVI, Bermuda or Cayman);
- From Newly Qualified - 4 years' post qualification experience in commercial litigation, ideally including involvement in shareholder disputes, trust disputes, white collar crime/fraud, and/or insolvency litigation matters;
- A solid career track record with another major national or international law firm;
- Prior offshore experience isn’t needed (as the requisite training and support will be provided).
