Planning Partner l Top 50 Firm l Bristol

The firm:

A regional firm but with London-style work, this Top 50 firm has a fantastic reputation and is constantly expanding and developing. They excel in key areas such as Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Private Wealth, mid-market Corporate/M&A, Employment, Environment, Litigation, Planning, Real Estate, Restructuring & Insolvency, and Family/Matrimonial law.

Recently ranked highly in the 'Best UK Law Firm to Work For' 2024 and securing eight Future Lawyers Awards this year, this firm stands out not only for its exceptional legal services but also as an outstanding employer. The firm is a leader in gender diversity, with a significant percentage of female partners, and has made strides in enhancing maternity leave and providing additional support for families.

What sets this firm apart is its lack of hierarchy. There's a strong sense of approachability and community throughout the organisation, with the culture often described as genuine, friendly, and enjoyable.

The firm recently celebrated a significant milestone, surpassing £100 million in revenue, marking its fifth consecutive year of growth.

The role:

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Planning Partner to join a prominent Top 50 law firm and play a key role in the growth and expansion of their Bristol offering.

The team handles a wide range of high-quality planning and environmental work, much of which is complex, high-value, and high-profile. Led by two Partners and supported by a diverse group of lawyers, the team specialises in six predominant practice areas: Local Government, Housebuilding, Environmental, Strategic Land, Highways and Rights of Way, and Compulsory Purchase and Development Consent Orders.

As part of the firm's growth strategy, they are seeking an additional Partner with extensive expertise in Planning, Environmental, and Compulsory Purchase to join their dynamic team.

Beyond fee-earning, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services, and contributing to the strategic direction and success of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a strong focus on exceeding client expectations, proven evidence of anticipating client needs and resolving problems
  • Able to motivate a team of lawyers and support staff and enhance their professional and technical development
  • Attend networking and business development events with the opportunity to raise the profile of you and the team by speaking at events, webinars and podcasts
  • Passionate, ambitious and energetic
