Private Equity - Apis Partners

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a lawyer to join the in-house legal and compliance team of a global, private equity and venture capital asset manager focused on financial services and financial infrastructure business growth-stage investments.

The role is broad ranging and will cover a wide scope of legal matters including support on the legal aspects of fund-raising for private funds, portfolio company investments and M&A, advising on general commercial and corporate matters (including drafting of various corporate and commercial contracts) and employment matters.  Although not a core part of the role, there will be opportunities to be involved on compliance aspects and providing support to the compliance function on regulatory and compliance matters.  We use external counsel, where appropriate, and have an established and senior in house legal and compliance team who will support the candidate, as required.

The ideal candidate will have either a private practice background or be working in-house, preferably in private equity.  As a guide, the ideal candidate will have c. 5+ years’ post qualification experience, although we are happy to discuss the role with candidates who fall outside of this range.  Strong relevant experience, exceptional analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment are essential.

The role will be based in Dubai, UAE, with an initial introductory period of between 3 to 6 months working in London alongside the General Counsel and the legal team.
