Head of Compliance and Data Protection Officer

This Newcastle Upon Tyne based manufacturing business with a global presence, is looking to recruit a Head of Compliance and Data Protection Officer. A great opportunity to lead on corporate compliance with a major household name brand.

In this exciting new role, you will be working across all things compliance including taking on the role of the DPO, and so strong, broad compliance experience is a must, as is solid exposure to data protection matters. Day-to-day you will be involved in the development and delivery of compliance training across the business, horizon scanning on regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with mandatory obligations across a wide range of areas. You will also have responsibility for a small team and the ideal candidate will have management experience or will be keen to make a step up into a management position.

This role will report to the General Counsel and would suit an experienced compliance professional who has worked within a similar business environment and has an in depth understanding of high risk compliance requirements (competition, anti-bribery etc.). Alternatively, the business would also be happy to consider applications from regulatory lawyers who might be looking for something a little different.
