Employment Counsel

This is an exciting and truly unique opportunity for an employment lawyer to join a leading digital property company as the first employment lawyer for EMEA.

The Opportunity

The role will have responsibility for all employment law matters for the UK and will support the business on its European expansion, both from a strategic and operational perspective. You will lead and advise on a range of employment matters including day to day employee relations, performance matters, employment strategies, data privacy, redundancies, dismissals and TUPE. You will work closely with the European HR teams, implementing policies and procedures (especially with newly acquired businesses) ensuring cohesion and best practice across the European business. You will also work closely with the US, advising on compliance with applicable EU laws and managing the company’s relationship with local law firms on employment matters.

About You

The opportunity will suit an individual who enjoys variety and who has an understanding of or exposure to European employment law, with any knowledge of French, German or Spanish employment law being of particular interest.

Broad employment law experience is key with any in-house experience certainly being of interest. The ability to make decisions and advise the business pragmatically is essential, as is the ability to build and cultivate successful working relationships across the business at all levels.

This is a unique opportunity for an employment lawyer to join an acquisitive and growing technology business in a new role for the business and the UK legal team.
