Senior Associate – Professional Indemnity - c.5 PQE - Professional & Financial Risks – Bristol - Hybrid

Our client, a leading International Legal 500 law firm with an excellent reputation, is seeking a Professional Indemnity Senior Associate to join their Professional & Financial Risks team ("PFR") in Bristol. The PFR team is part of the firm's insurance group and has a well-established client base, acting for the vast majority of Professional Indemnity Insurers in the market and their insureds.

The ideal applicant will have a solid background in litigation and be expected to work on a wide variety of claims against various professionals including solicitors, insurance brokers, accountants and financial advisers. The role largely involves defending liability claims both pre and post litigation, providing advice/ representation on matters such as regulatory issues, risk management, Ombudsman complaints and policy coverage aspect of claims.

The work will be varied, interesting and challenging and you will be given autonomy; there will be the opportunity to work on matters involving a range of professions on multi-track cases. You will also have the opportunity to business develop.

Key responsibilities:-

  • Management of a caseload of Professional Indemnity claims, including coverage issues.
  • Delivering high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.
  • Expertise in professional indemnity litigation.
  • Capturing and collating required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • 5+ PQE
  • The candidate must have litigation experience with a preference to those with insurance litigation backgrounds.
  • Attention to detail, good organisational skills, and flexibility.
  • Be a good team-worker but also self-motivated and ready to hit the ground running.
