Job Details

Well regarded commercial law firm in Leeds is looking to recruit two Healthcare Regulatory lawyers – one of 0 to 2 years’ PQE and the other of 3 or more years’ PQE. The Healthcare team provides legal advice and training to a wide range of organisations operating in the healthcare and social care sector, including NHS Trusts, independent sector providers, charities, commissioners and investors. The team plays an important role in the firm’s broader Health practice, which is widely recognised as one of the leading strategic, commercial and regulatory legal advisers to the health and social care sector. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to undertake regulatory and advisory work, including coroners’ inquests, patient care issues and mental health advice, CQC inspection, regulation and enforcement. You will handle a varied workload with an appropriate level of supervision (depending on your PQE) and act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate you’re your level of experience.

You will have an enthusiastic and committed approach with an interest in developing expertise in areas such as health and social care regulation, coroner’s inquests, mental health law, serious medical treatment, professional disciplinary, incident investigation and information governance. Advocacy experience is an advantage (but not essential as training can be provided in this area). This is an opportunity for someone looking to join a successful and expanding team in an exciting and developing sector, within a firm with an excellent reputation in the Health and Public sectors nationally and as a great place to work. You will also be expected to support the team in its marketing and business development activities. If you are already qualified, our client does not expect you to have covered the full breadth of work undertaken by the team but they do require a demonstrable interest in this area and enthusiasm to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the work this department does. If you are newly-qualified, ideally you will have undertaken either a Healthcare-related seat or a general Regulatory seat, though the most important thing is to have an interest in Healthcare-related law.
