Commercial law firm in London is looking to recruit an Employee Incentives lawyer of 0 to 2 years’ PQE. The EI team is part of the Tax group, which is in turn part of the corporate group in the UK. It is a small team but this does mean significant amounts of responsibility and client contact. You would also work closely with colleagues in the firm’s other practice areas, particularly Employment and Corporate and across a number of the firm’s key sectors. The team mainly acts for private companies from start-ups through to exit with an emphasis on the Tech & Comms and Media, Entertainment and Sports sectors. They also act for a small portfolio of AIM listed companies. The role will consist of entirely Employee Incentives matters and the successful candidate will assist with the following: • incentives aspects of corporate transactions including structuring earn-outs and tax planning  • the design of management incentive arrangements including EMI plans, growth shares, JSOPs and other arrangements • cross-border incentive arrangements, including the roll-out of equity arrangements across multiple jurisdictions • drafting share-based incentive arrangements, advising on employment taxes (including termination payments and internationally mobile employees), management incentives and shareholder taxation as well as servicing on-going queries from a large portfolio of existing clients.

You will also be expected to assist in the business development and marketing activities of the department. This role offers excellent prospects for career progression. If you are newly-qualified, you will have undertaken a seat in Corporate Tax or Employee Incentives/ Share Schemes law. If you are already qualified, you will either specialise in Employee Incentives/Share Schemes law or more general Corporate Tax law, but ideally having had at least some experience of Employee Incentives.
