Job Details

A UK law firm is investing into another senior member for its eDiscovery function. This role can be based in London or Birmingham. 

This eDiscovery Manager role is going to be suitable for an individual with upwards of 5 years of eDiscovery experience working with Relativity and other similar software packages. You will have decent knowledge of the CPR in respect of eDiscovery. 

The work tends to be advisory, so advising and working with external providers, preparing reports and guiding internal litigation/document review teams and external clients, working with the client from start to finish. The work this team does is extremely valued and visible across the law firm - you'll be speaking and working closely with lawyers in different locations every day. 

You will attend meetings with clients, talk about strategy, introduce data sources that could support them in particular ways, and help them to gain the competitive edge in each case. You will supervise and guide more junior members of the team, and share best practice and learning. You will provide help alongside these duties, including getting involved in pitches for new work and re-tendering with existing clients.  

This eDiscovery function is in a bit of a start up phase (compared with some of the more mature regional/national law firm teams) and is quite a flat structure at the moment. They are likely to ramp up in time and add more team members as the years go on - it could be a good opportunity to join as a team grows around you. 

This law firm, which is well known for its excellent culture, operates a hybrid model and you tend to be looking at 2/3 days in the office and the rest of the week from home.
