Job Details

Our client, a highly regarded full-service national firm, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced law firm risk and compliance professional. The firm is values driven and has people and purpose at its core.

In this role you will work closely with the firm’s Managing Partner, including advising on partnership issues, and will have overall responsibility for the firm’s approach to risk and compliance and risk management.

As the firm’s new Director of Risk & Compliance you will take on the role of COLP and MLRO, supported by deputies, lead the risk & compliance team and advise on a range of issues, including professional indemnity claims, conduct issues, data protection, information security and quality management.

You will be an important part of the firm’s leadership team and will regularly liaise with its senior executive, including reporting to the Board on risk issues, as well as with group heads and functional directors. The role will also involve chairing the Strategic Risk Committee and being the point person for all internal and external risk issues.

Our client is looking for someone not only with the leadership skills to manage and develop the existing team credibly and effectively, but also with the experience of this area to be able to bring fresh ideas and improvements to the firm’s approach to risk, processes and procedures.

Ideally you will have gained a range of experience in law firm risk and compliance with another leading firm. Our client is looking for someone with experience at senior level, ideally gained within another law firm risk and compliance function or other professional services business in its legal practice. Experience of the SRA regulatory regime will be a significant advantage.

The firm is looking for someone with the personality and credibility to work effectively with colleagues at all levels across the firm and to lead, motivate and develop its risk and compliance team, who will also fit into the culture of the firm and its leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious law firm risk & compliance specialist who is interested in a leadership role, so could suit someone in a similar role looking for a change of scene or someone in a management role looking to step up to the next level and lead the function.

If you are interested to find out more please contact Chris Cayley or Michelle Corneby of Cyan Partners by email at chris@cyan.partners or michelle@cyan.partners

This assignment is being handled exclusively by Cyan Partners and the closing date for applications is 24th June.
