Mutual Insurance company with strong focus on professionals in the built environment requires an additional lawyer to join a growing team. Its membership consists of many award-winning practices passionate about the built environment, designing landmark projects both in the UK and internationally. Services provided include a comprehensive review of Members' appointments and ancillary documents, claims handling, underwriting and risk management for Members. . The Contracts Manager (qualified lawyer) is responsible for reviewing appointment documents and negotiating amendments to them for Members of the Mutual Insurance Association Limited. You will be joining a large team of solicitors and legal executives. Together you will assist Members to be appointed on terms falling within their cover and handle any resulting claims. Main duties will include:
- Reviewing Members' appointments and other related documentation and advising them of the coverage positionProposing amendments where necessary to those documents to bring them within cover.
- Negotiating amendments with the Member's client and/or the client's advisers (if required)
- Participating in meetings with Members to explain coverage issues You will have preferably gained non-contentious construction experience from a law firm or an in-house legal team and be familiar with professional indemnity matters relating to construction professionals. You will be legally qualified with a minimum of 1-year PQE.
The role is flexible with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office in Central London
