FS REGULATORY PARTNER (BERMUDA) (10+PQE) (US$300,000 - US$360,000) (6% TAX)

A rare offshore Partner level opportunity has arisen in the Bermuda office of this highly-respected major offshore firm. The role will involve leading a small but growing team which sits within the firm's tier 1 global FS Regulatory department, and you will be responsible for driving the development of the practice. 

You will be an existing Partner level (or exceptional Counsel level) FS Regulatory specialist who can demonstrate significant experience from a recognised international law firm, although you may currently be working in an in-house role or for a regulatory body. You will need to be admitted in either the UK, Australia, Canada, Bermuda or another major offshore jurisdiction such as Cayman or BVI.

The firm is seeking someone who will deliver top tier service to existing clients and also contribute to the development of new client relationships and marketing. The ideal candidate should have an appetite for and track record in developing juniors. There will be opportunities to be involved in training, recruitment and management.

Day to day work will involve advising on a broad range of non-contentious regulatory matters for various industry sector clients including economic substance, beneficial ownership, data protection, anti-money laundering, sanctions, licensing and registration, FATCA/CRS, and regulatory obligations applicable to investment funds. You will have a deep understanding of the financial services industry overall including banking, insurance, securities investment business, fintech and investment funds, and a good understanding of the global and onshore regulatory landscape.

Ease of transition

All the islands have English as their main language and have a very friendly, lively and cosmopolitan expat community (circa 50% of the population in Bermuda, BVI and Cayman are expats drawn from every corner of the globe), which makes settling into island life much easier. In addition, no exams are necessary to get admitted and practise in Cayman, BVI or Bermuda.
