About the team
UK Top 50 Law firm, our clients national Construction & Engineering team cover all aspects of the built environment and process plant, from infrastructure to commercial and residential buildings,
offices, retail, logistics and production facilities. You would be joining a team of 28 construction and engineering law specialists who cover both the "front end" of projects, drafting and negotiating the documents, and dealing with disputes which can arise on construction projects, whether via negotiation and settlement or more formal dispute resolution procedure.

contractors, funds, consultants and sub-contractors.

The Role
We are looking for a non contentious construction lawyer, with circa 2 - 8 years PQE to support the Partner and National Head of Construction & Engineering. Specialising in construction and engineering procurement work, acting for employers (in both public and private sectors), contractors, consultants, funders and sub-contractors. The work includes advising on and negotiating procurement strategies and structures, building, engineering remediation and process plant contracts, framework agreements and call-off contracts, PFI/PPP projects, consultants' appointments, bonds, guarantees, collateral warranties and associated issues.
You will have experience of drafting and negotiating JCT amendments, consultants' appointments, warranties, etc and ideally you would have some experience of NEC but this is not essential. You will be able to work as part of a team dealing with property development projects for employers and providing construction law assistance to the property lawyers dealing with the development documents.
You will also be involved in due diligence for funders and purchasers, advising consultants on their appointments and, subject to previous experience, advising specialist contractors/sub-contractors.

This role can be can be based out of our clients Nottingham, Sheffield or Birmingham offices and we would be open to discuss other offices for more senior candidates.
