Funds/Corporate Lawyer – Snr Associate to Partner (Cayman Islands)

We are delighted to be assisting a highly regarded boutique firm in Grand Cayman who are actively looking to add a senior individual to assist in the development their corporate practice, particularly in the area of investment funds and other complex cross border corporate transactions. To be considered, it is vital that applicants are at a stage in their career where they possess strong client relationships and/or are confident in their ability to both attract and transact new instructions. 

Our clients current practice encompasses the full array of investment funds, acting for sponsors, funds, managers, advisors and service providers, either as lead counsel or in tandem with onshore firms. Offering what is a bespoke, hands on service, they pride themselves in being responsive and precise in their advice, guiding their clients through ever increasing regulation whilst still trying to preserve maximum flexibility in attaining their objectives. Without a doubt they punch well above their weight and regularly seen on deals often the preserve of the major offshore firms. 

Previous offshore experience, ideally in Cayman, would be ideal, but this should not preclude talented senior funds/corporate lawyers currently onshore from exploring this opportunity as our client is “open minded” on the profile of the successful candidate. Further, by way of seniority, you could be an aspiring Senior Associate/Counsel frustrated in your current position and ready to take that step up or alternatively an established partner looking for a new challenge that offers more autonomy and freedom - and genuine input in the direction of the practice going forward. 

With respect of compensation, our client can be creative albeit not in a position to compete on a like for like basis with the larger offshore firms from day one. That said, they can offer the successful candidate an opportunity to benefit directly from their hard work and effort, supporting them actively in the development of their practice and the success of the firm in general. Furthermore and perhaps most interesting, is the opportunity to secure equity in the firm at an early stage, depending on your profile and business case.
