Financial Services Regulatory Partner – Bermuda

We are currently assisting a well-established offshore law firm in their search for a seasoned FS Regulatory lawyer to enhance their highly rated practice based in Bermuda.

Our client consistently earns recognition from sophisticated clients, who commend their ability to effectively address pressing matters and provide real-time guidance across a wide spectrum of industries, including fintech, investment funds, and insurance. Their extensive portfolio of work involves regular support to financial institutions in conducting impact assessments, navigating compliance challenges, and handling investigations. Additionally, they specialise in advising digital asset entities on regulatory and governance issues, as well as demonstrating proficiency in areas such as data protection, economic substance, licensing applications, and changes in ownership.

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate should already hold the position of Partner (or at the very least Senior Lawyer/Counsel) at a reputable international law firm. In-house lawyers may also be considered, if (a) they remain a frontline regulatory expert and (b) they have not been away from private practice for too long and maintain a “sharp pencil”. Candidates with prior experience in the Caribbean or originating from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada would be preferred.

Furthermore, a strong technical aptitude, coupled with a confident and client-focused approach, should be evident through the candidate's proven track record in cultivating client relationships and attracting new business in their current capacity. While familiarity with the Bermuda regulatory landscape is advantageous, we also welcome high-calibre regulatory lawyers seeking a new professional challenge.
