Corporate Associate Solicitor - Manchester
If you are already a corporate solicitor and you've gained a good level of PQE and solid transactional experience then chances are you are being pretty well looked after and are pretty well positioned. No doubt you are being worked hard. Then again, you work in corporate so it pretty much comes with the territory.
In this role, you'll be paid well but you'll work hard. We'd love to tell you differently but it isn't so. I'm not saying its like selling your soul because it isn't - there are both systems and the right attitudes in place to ensure that they strike the balance to ensure you are supported and not overworked. So how is this different to what you've got?
For some, the answer may be that it isn't. Or at least not enough to make a move. For others it may be that it is an opportunity to take a step up or for others it may address something that is lacking in your current role.
So, what is the USP of this corporate role in an already congested advertising space for corporate lawyers? The real difference is the quality of the work. You have to want to work for some first class and leading brands - countless household named clients and deals that are often headline hitting.
There are also few teams that can genuinely profess their level of work coverage from M&A, Joint Ventures, IPO and Private Equity. There is no two ways about it, this is top tier working in Manchester.
If you are a corporate solicitor with upwards of 1 years PQE (they could look at lower but that is perhaps as part of a wider desire to grow rather than befitting the level of this role) then we would like to talk to you.
There is an expectation of strong academics but there are no parameters in terms of your previous firm, save for rather obviously needing to have corporate transactional experience.
We'll save the culture fit for when we speak as we know only too well how meaningless the "collegiate" description can be. Better that we add a more personal overview specific to the Partners and team for when we talk.
So who should get in touch? Well, actual corporate lawyers. Unfortunately this is too senior a role to represent a retrain however if you have broader experience across restructuring and reorganisations and/or projects work then these are areas open to consideration. You'll be stepping into an active team with junior lawyers beneath you. So, if you have corporate experience under your belt or broader experience as described then get in touch. Whether you are based in Manchester or outside the city centre or are in one of the major hubs or London and want to come to Manchester to see why it is one of the most popular places to live then drop Paul Warburton a line for a confidential discussion.
