Job Title: Legal Counsel- Rural and Windsor/Commercial

The Crown Estate is seeking a Legal Counsel to support two Senior Legal Counsel (Rural and Windsor, Commercial) in relation to the delivery of all aspects of legal services to the Rural and Windsor strategic business unit and the Digital team. This includes the oversight of transactional, litigation and other legal advice in support of the corporate strategy and objectives, in accordance with The Crown Estate’s wider strategic and governance framework.
You will be a qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience (ideally 4 to 10 years) in all aspects of commercial real estate, gained either in private practice or in house. Experience of agricultural real estate and commercial law is desirable but not necessary. What is necessary is a keen willingness to learn and to develop your areas of expertise.
You will need to develop a detailed understanding of the Crown Estate Act 1961, in order to advise both the business and our external advisors. Working with the Rural and Windsor team and the panel law firms, you will assist on significant transactions and contentious/sensitive matters, as well as “business as usual” activities. Through your work with the Digital team, you will advise the business on significant commercial transactions and will draft, review and negotiate a wide range of IT and commercial contracts with TCE’s external advisers and supply chain.
You will need to demonstrate a commercial approach and be a team player, displaying a can-do attitude to facilitate implementation of strategy.
