Our client is an award-winning, innovative and international theatrical producer, based in Sydney, Australia. They specialise in the development, creation and production of large-scale theatrical productions for the global entertainment industry.
They are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join their Legal and Business Affairs team, reporting to the Head of Legal and Business Affairs. This is a rare opportunity to work in Australia on a range of entertainment industry legal and commercial matters with industry experts and leaders in an international context.
You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of legal issues in connection with the productions, as well as providing legal support to other divisions within the business, including the COO, Finance, Production, HR, and Marketing teams. You will also work across a number of corporate governance matters, as well as collaborating with other team members to develop legal policies and procedures internationally, and assist in maintaining and developing best practice regarding templates, summaries, corporate and contracts registers.
The successful candidate will have experience in drafting and negotiating various types of commercial agreements and will have had excellent legal training from a firm and possibly in-house experience.
Prior experience of working in these areas will be advantageous: rights agreements, licensing agreements, employment agreements, venue hire agreements, music publishing agreements, royalty management, merchandising arrangements, sponsorship and marketing arrangements, and supply of goods and services agreements.
