THEATRE LAWYER 2-5PQE - UNIQUE ROLE AT TOP PRACTICE

New role!  Extremely rare opportunity to join a highly regarded media practice assisting two exceptional senior lawyers on theatre work as well as a broader diet of media and entertainment work. 

You will need to have a real passion for theatre and a strong desire to develop a thorough knowledge of how the theatre business works. It is also imperative that you have a strong commercial law background, a rigorous eye for detail and are highly organised and commercial in your approach and outlook. 

The teams advice to theatre clients covers rights based issues, including acquiring rights for productions and commissioning authors, composers and lyricists; wide ranging contractual matters such as agreements with creative contributors and theatres; and structuring and agreements for financing of theatre productions.  Legal issues cover intellectual property, through contract law, employment, financing and tax (working with specialist colleagues in other departments where necessary). 

The work often has a significant international aspect and the team work across productions including major musicals through to significant franchises.
