Competition Lawyers, 1-3PQE, Global Law Firm, London

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a junior associate to join their well-regarded competition practice based in London. The new hire will play a pivotal role in the team, working on a wide range of challenging and high-profile cases covering both UK and EU matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing strategic and commercially focused legal advice on competition law matters to a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, government entities, and regulatory bodies.
• Assisting in merger control filings, conduct due diligence, and advising clients on competition law implications related to corporate transactions, ensuring compliance with UK and EU competition regulations.
• Conducting in-depth research, analysing complex legal issues, and preparing submissions in response to competition investigations by regulatory authorities, such as the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the European Commission.
• Helping clients develop and implement robust compliance programs, providing training on competition law matters, and assessing potential risks associated with commercial activities.
• Representing clients in competition law disputes, including advocacy before courts, competition tribunals, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or the European Union.
• 1-3 years of PQE gained at a recognised competition practice.
• Strong academic background in law and a genuine interest in competition law.
• Excellent knowledge of UK and EU competition law frameworks, regulations, and guidelines.
• Stable career record.

Whilst experience in competition litigation is not essential, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work on competition law disputes if they wish to do so.
