Funds Associate (5yrs+) - Hong Kong

A leading international offshore law firm is looking to add a dynamic & ambitious Funds Associate to their growing Hong Kong team.

Advising on all aspects of formation, structuring and restructuring of all types of open and closed end funds including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital, real estate and infrastructure funds the successful candidate will quickly become immersed in all aspects of the practice, taking the lead on transactions from day one with appropriate supervision.

With responsibility for the drafting of all fund documents, advising on both commercial issues as well as technical legal issues, and some negotiation, this role also entails working with a range of fund formation experts on hedge, private equity and other investment fund structures. All necessary training will be provided, where necessary. The role provides the ability to realise your long-term potential and offers genuine opportunities for progression for ambitious individuals.

What should you bring? Applicants should have gained experience working at top commercial firms and be looking for a long-term career in Hong Kong. Whilst some funds experience would be an advantage, it is not a pre-requisite for the role (as all necessary training can be provided), so a solid corporate background would be considered also.

We welcome candidates with a minimum of 5 year's relevant post qualification experience who are qualified in a Commonwealth jurisdiction to apply. Applicants should be hard working and have outstanding legal and technical skills, including excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task, interpersonal, communication and drafting skills and be able to work as part of a team. Strong academics are a must. The candidate should be a native English speaker – while Chinese language skills a plus (but not required).
