As Compliance Director this is a key strategic role within the business and business partner to the CEO and Exco. Accountable for embedding a compliance culture that underpins the operation, decision making and development of all aspects of the organisation to ensure the regulatory and reputational risks are effectively identified, managed, and escalated.


Scope of the role:

Develop an overall compliance strategy and plan that aligns with the business strategy and manages the regulatory and reputational risk of the organisation.


Build and maintain effective relations and deal openly with all key stakeholders including regulators to ensure business decisions are appropriate for customers, stakeholders, colleagues, and communities in which the organisation operates.


Ensure the operations of the organisation are appropriately licenced in all jurisdictions in which the organisation operates including, maintaining licencing and appropriate regulatory reporting as necessary.


Maintain effective oversight of the MRLO, conducting regular risk assessments to ensure the business fully complies with its regulatory AML and counter terrorist financing obligations.


Work with the General Counsel to maintain an effective compliance operating model to support the effective risk management and oversight of regulatory and reputation risks across the organisation.


Monitor and report on the consistent application and effectives of the implementation of policies and business standards. Design and implement an effective system of controls for each business area.


Proactively identify, asses, control, report and challenge key risks, and contingency plans are developed as appropriate. Design the processes and controls within the organisation to comply with applicable laws and regulations.



Do you have the following?

A thorough understanding of the digital environment and the macro-economic environment within the online gambling sector is essential to successful application of regulatory requirements.

Proven experience within a recognised regulated gaming compliance environment.

A solid foundation and understanding of the industry’s social responsibility requirements.

Strong leadership skills with a proven experience in operating and influencing within a high performing team and contributing at all levels.

Excellent understanding of the Gambling Commission’s licence conditions and codes of practice.

Highly motivated with a proactive attitude, self-starter, innovative with the ability to deliver quality results with a challenging but positive and influential style.


Flexibility to manage change – meet the changing needs of the Business, Regulators and Commission as well as a deep, and demonstrable, understanding of the Gambling Commission’s licence conditions and codes of practice.
