Public Lawyer - 6-12-month contract

On behalf of a leading alternative legal service provider, we are seeking an experienced lawyer consultant to provide exceptional public law support to their esteemed Public Law Team on an ad-hoc hourly project basis.

The key requirements for success are:

• Consistent in-house experience with local authorities/local council organisations, OR solid experience representing local authorities/local council clients.
• A solid understanding of public constitutional and governance processes that underpin the operations of local authority bodies.

This position does not involve central government work. Instead, it revolves around advising local authority/local council clients on public constitutional matters. Therefore, candidates with central government experience may not be the right fit.

As a consultant, you will be immersed in local laws, committee processes, and public sector governance within a local authority environment. Candidates with previous experience dealing with/advising on local authority council meetings, and providing guidance on the correct processes to follow would be of particular interest. Please note even though it is a fully remote role, you must be based within the UK, and be able to work outside IR35.
