Senior Legal Counsel, Global brand, West Midlands Hybrid

Exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to join a leading international business which is going through a period of change.  Based in the West Midlands hybrid working.

Arbuthnot Yon are working exclusively with a UK global brand.  The UK based business operates across the UK, Europe and Asia and is part of a global conglomerate.  The business is going through an exciting period of change and modernisation encompassing sustainable innovation R&D and technology projects that require support from the legal team. 

Forming part of a small UK based Legal team and reporting into the General Counsel, you will work closely with stakeholders and advise across a range of legal areas with a focus on commercial contracts.  This will involve you acting as a business partner to business areas and leading on strategic projects and advising on legal risk across all areas of the business.

The primary focus of your role will be to work closely with stakeholders supporting the full lifecycle of commercial contracts - advising on, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including procurement, supply of goods, distribution agreements, technology related contracts and customer contracts some of which have international aspects to them.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of legal projects across corporate transactions, finance, litigation, IP, risk management and compliance areas. 

We are keen to hear from experienced commercial lawyers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and love what they do!  Due to the varied nature of this business, you will thrive on working across different legal areas and you will be able to operate at both a strategic and operational level.    

You will have at least 5 years PQE currently working in-house or in private practice with experience gained in commercial legal work.   Any experience gained in the broader legal areas would be a bonus, but we are really looking for commercial lawyers with a growth mindset.    We are also very keen to hear from more experienced in-house lawyers looking for a change or alternatively if you are a lawyer looking to step up then this could be this could be a great opportunity to progress your career.

This position is based in the West Midlands and commutable from both the East and West Midlands.  The business has adopted a hybrid working model and you will be required to work in the office 3 days per week.

Competitive salary on offer: to £85,000 plus car allowance or fully expensed car, bonus, pension and healthcare.
