Legal Counsel job 2+PQE - Cheltenham + Hybrid working

Your new firm
Our highly successful client, who are known for being industry leaders, are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join their in house team based in Cheltenham due to continued growth. This role will work on a hybrid basis, sharing time between home and the office, (circa 1-2 days per week in the office). Whilst the base location is Cheltenham, our client do also have offices in Bristol, therefore you could also work out of this office if preferred for part of the week.

Your new role
You will be:

• Drafting, negotiation and reviewing of commercial contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDA's, licences amongst others
• Supporting firmwide BAU legal issues
• Responsible for recommending firmwide precedents
• Maintaining internal legal documents, including but not limited to members agreement, terms of business and schedules and confidentiality agreements
• Drafting, negotiation and reviewing of commercial contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDA's, licences amongst others
• Assisting with general contact matters as appropriate within the business including.
• Assisting with the interpretation and understanding external legal advice

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer, circa 2 PQE+, with experienced gained either in-house or in private practice. You will have good experience in dealing with contract law including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements directly, and knowledge of intellectual property, information security and data protection including GDPR experience would be advantageous. Knowledge of financial services, FCA regulation and pensions experience is preferred but not essential.
