Contract role - Funds Lawyer for Market Leading Exchange Traded Product (ETP) Business, Dublin

Our client is a true pioneer that creates, markets, distributes and manages exchange traded products (ETPs) encompassing funds (ETFs) and commodities (ETCs) on behalf of its clients (a mix of investment banks, asset managers and investors).

We are now looking for a funds lawyer to join this growing business as the legal representative for their new Dublin office. This person will largely support their ETF offering and report directly to the General Counsel. This is an interim role to start May 2023 onwards (exact length TBD) that could lead to a permanent role for the right person.

More specifically, the successful candidate will:

• Advise on product development, fund launches and maintenance of the current and future funds portfolio;
• Review and update funds documentation (KIIDs, fund prospectuses and agreements);
• Act as a point of contact on regulatory/compliance matters for the Irish office and advise on firm-wide impacts of future European regulations.
• Assist with the ongoing development of the ETC platform and cryptocurrency capabilities;
• Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements.

We are open to lawyers who have built their practice in a relevant top-tier firms/in-house teams in Ireland, or those who have experience in the London/international market and are now Dublin-based. A funds (UCITS) background is a key requirement, but more specifically:

• 5+ years’ PQE experience;
• Strong sense of the funds regulatory environment and dealing with regulators (FCA/IFSRA);
• Experience with ETFs would be a bonus, but is by no means a pre-requisite;
• Available from May 2023 onwards.
