Job Details
Our client is a leader in vehicle leasing and hire. With offices and sales outlets across the UK, they are separating their UK and European legal functions to allow these to be co-located with the business teams they support.
As a US company, they value their lawyers taking on front-line advisory roles as well as supporting contract drafting. Working with the sales team, you will draft, negotiate and advise on a wide range of contracts across procurement, sales and service agreements. You will also cover some advisory regulatory work in areas where new regulation impacts the business and have an opportunity to get involved with the GC in advising around government affairs and lobbying, analysing consultation papers and advising on responses and lobbying positions.
In return, you will work in a great legal team while also being co-located with the business you support (probably spending one to two days a week in the office with the wider legal team and one to two with the UK sales team. You will benefit from a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and two from home and will receive a market base salary with bonus potential.
The successful candidate will be a lawyer with at least in part in a general commercial role in-house or in a law firm. Regulatory experience is useful but inessential as the regulatory component of the role is only around 20% of the workload at most.
