General Counsel | Renewable Energy Scale-Up | London

This is an exciting opportunity to head up the legal function of this hyper-scaling Renewable Energy business based in London.

Having developed a state-of-the-art product that improves air quality and minimises carbon footprint, this business is leading the charge in ensuring that a net-zero future is not too far away.

The business

The business helps companies to achieve Sustainability targets, helping to remove carbon emissions and limit their impact on climate change. They design tailored renewable energy infrastructure that helps each of their clients' operations in becoming net zero.

They work with a range of clients within; Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Construction, Automotive, helping each client to decarbonise their carbon emissions. The key objective of this business is to provide a better living environment for all people, business, the environment and local communities.

The business creates long-standing relationships with each of their clients, providing unique and future-proof technology that allows each of their clients to save money and achieve their Net Zero targets.

The role

The General Counsel will be responsible for heading up the businesses' legal and compliance function during its continued growth. You will be managing a team of 2 and will be part of the management team, also having the opportunity to work with other departments in the business, incl; Marketing, HR, Sales and Finance.

It will be your team's responsibility to support the development and delivery of each project, this will typically entail; commercial contracts, due diligence, financing, corporate, data protection, sales and much more. You will also be regularly managing external counsel on regulatory and other legal requirements for operational matters across the UK and going forwards during their international expansion on the horizon.

It will be essential for you to support the Legal department in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives, as well as advising the board and senior stakeholders on various legal matters.

Requirements

  • At least 10+ years PQE and In-House experience
  • Experience within the Energy sector is preferred
  • Ability to lead the legal function of a fast-paced, growing business
