Legal Counsel, 2 - 5 PQE

Opportunity to join growing and entrepreneurial business based in Birmingham. We are keen to hear from lawyers with 2-6 PQE gained in commercial law.

An opportunity has arisen to join the legal team of a Birmingham based business which has grown significantly doubling in size in the last couple of years. Working alongside the Head of Legal, you will find yourself working in a fast-paced environment, providing commercial support and advice to the whole business.

Key responsibilities include:-

Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a variety of legal and commercial agreements e.g. supplier contracts, agent agreements, marketing promotions etc. Assisting in the conduct of claims and litigation. Managing the data protection programme, including updating and maintaining policies, managing data subject access requests and ensuring appropriate protection is in place in contracts etc. Assisting with insurance and compliance matters. Developing, implementing and updating legal policies, procedures and standard templates. Assisting with corporate governance and company secretarial matters. Managing the highly capable paralegal. Outsourcing, and effectively managing, matters to external law firms where necessary.

This role will suit a qualified lawyer with c2-6 years' PQE gained in commercial law and contracts any experience gained in broader areas such as data protection, disputes, compliance is desirable.

Whatever your background, you will be comfortable working with and communicating to colleagues at all levels of the business and you will be able to work well as part of a team as well as having the ability to work autonomously.
