Legal Counsel | International Software Business | London

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a leading, international software business based in London. Highly regarded in the US, EMEA & APAC, this forward-thinking business are looking to expand their legal function in line with their prosperous international growth.

Despite being a Software multinational, the product that this business promotes has a very important moral function, helping to ensure that Democracy, Privacy and Climate Preservation is achieved in all areas of the globe.

The business

This business is a well-established Software specialist headquartered in London. With origins in the US, and recent expansion into the EMEA & APAC markets, they are looking to add an ambitious Commercial Lawyer to their international legal team.

The business is currently expanding and making connections with an increasing number of clients in EMEA, APAC and the Middle East regions. They foresee continual growth over the coming months and years and require you to take a lead role during this period.

Due to the international nature of the business, they pride themselves on having a diverse workforce, as well as offering the opportunity work with clients in an interesting mixture of countries, from developed western states to emerging economies.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a 5-7PQE Commercial Lawyer to take a lead role, focusing on the EMEA & APAC regions for this reputable software business.

The business are looking for a 5-7 PQE Associate General Counsel to assist their well-experienced international legal team of 10 based in the US, Europe and Asia. This business is playing a key role in the promotion of Democracy, Privacy and Climate Preservation worldwide.

You will be reporting to the Global Head of Legal and CEO, taking on management duties for the legal and compliance function in the UK, focusing on Europe, Africa and APAC. You will be leading on high-value hardware/software contracts, service contracts, supplier agreements and much more, as well as negotiating with a range of sub-contractors.It will also be your responsibility to manage a number of external counsel for their ongoing litigation matters.

You will also be sitting on the board of one of the businesses' investment subsidiaries, providing pro-active legal and business advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring that the business continues to go in the right direction. The business will also consider candidates who do not have In-House experience, but have performed at a high-level within private practice. The business are also offering some outstanding progression opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5-7 PQE (UK Qualified) and a UK-based legal education (LLB/LLM)
  • Experience negotiating SaaS/Tech contracts with high net-worth international clients
  • Hard-working, ambitious and commercially confident nature

Package
