The Team
The Real Estate Litigation team deliver a high-quality legal service and this role will include exposure to highly topical fire safety related issues for a large fund as well as a range of other work, in both commercial and residential real estate litigation. You will enjoy a challenging and varied caseload as well as excellent professional development opportunities. The team is assisted by outstanding knowledge lawyers and dedicated support staff. The department acts for a broad range of clients including:

  • Commercial landlords and some tenants.
  • Investors.
  • Developers.
  • Ground rent and other residential landlords.
  • Social Housing organisations.
  • Private individuals.


Essential and desirable criteria

  • Commercial and residential landlord and tenant including rent recovery and possession claims.
  • Service charge matters including S.20 and related tribunal proceedings.
  • Fire safety issues (repairing and other obligations, fire safety legislation, service charge issues).
  • Enforcement of easements, restrictive covenants and rights of light.
  • Development disputes
  • Commercial tenant insolvency.
  • Disrepair and dilapidations.
  • 1954 Act renewals (contested and uncontested).
  • Adverse possession and squatters.
  • Anti-social behaviour.
  • Enfranchisement / lease extensions.
  • TOLATA claims
  • Agricultural law
