Legal Counsel NQ+ Job Gloucestershire + Hybrid Working

Your new company
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Legal Counsel to join their Legal and Secretarial team based out of Gloucestershire. You will have the opportunity to develop your legal career and gain exposure to a wide variety of commercial matters whilst working as part of a cohesive, supportive and friendly in-house legal team. The legal team work in a hybrid manner, typically spending 2-3 days in the office per week. Plenty of parking is available on site.

Your new role
This is a new role for the business, which will see you providing timely legal advice on a range of commercial matters, including risk review, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts across a variety of legal disciplines including insurance distribution and outsourcing, technology, intellectual property, commercial and data protection. You will also be assisting senior team members on strategic projects and aid the company's portfolio of businesses protect their brands and their intellectual property. You will proactively build effective relationships with stakeholders and business areas across the Group to establish an influential legal function and to promote legal best practice and help the team stay abreast of legal developments and maintain effective horizon scanning to identify and understand changing legal requirements. You will work in line with the company's culture, which empowers decision making and cohesive working.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, ideally with experience providing legal advice in a commercial environment working across technology, data protection and intellectual property issues, either in-house or private practice. This would be a great opportunity for an NQ - 2 PQE lawyer looking to make their first move in house, or perhaps a great next step if you are a junior lawyer already in-house, looking to make your next move. Alternatively, you might be an experienced lawyer looking to join a great team and enjoy quality work, or perhaps you might be looking to resume your legal career after a break. Prior experience of financial services is desirable but not essential.
