Reporting to Head of Legal based in UK headquarters as part of a small team supporting business interests across the UK. The role allows individuals to work independently within a team while developing skills and experience. Working for the UK subsidiary provides an opportunity to liaise with Group functions internationally. The individual will be required to engage with and build relationships with all levels of employees in a manner which ensures legal compliance and protection against risk while recognising commercial nature of operations.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Reviewing, drafting, and assisting with the negotiation of commercial contracts including customer, procurement, property and a range of other contracts
  • Provision of timely, accurate and commercially focused legal advice
  • Advising on regulatory matters including anti-bribery/corruption, modern slavery, data protection and public procurement
  • Resolve commercial disputes and manage the business's response to any regulatory investigations
  • Supporting the development of contract formation and administration tools and procedures, including contract templates, negotiation guidelines, approval and signing procedures and compliance monitoring systems
  • Contribution to the development and delivery of legal training programmes and otherwise raise awareness of legal risks within the business
  • Assist Head of Legal to manage the Company's relationships with key regulators including the ICO
  • Assist Head of Legal to manage the Company's relationships with legal and other service providers to ensure they provide high quality services at reasonable cost
  • Company secretarial duties

Requirements;

  • Qualified Solicitor in the UK or European Jurisdiction with substantial experience of England and Wales law
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiating and communication skills
  • Commercial pragmatic approach to legal issues
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse range of issues and stakeholders requiring support
