Senior Employment Lawyer (sole legal counsel)

Taylor Root is retained by a leading multicloud solutions provider headquartered in USA. They have operations spanning a number of countries across the globe. This entrepreneurial and fast-moving business is looking for an experienced employment lawyer to join them in this sole legal counsel role.

Reporting to the General Counsel who is based in the USA you will be the lead lawyer for all employment matters and sit as part of the employment and litigation team. There will be plenty of variety and complexity in the types of matters that you would be expected to handle.

Day to day you will provide legal advice to a range of international stakeholders in the business with emphasis on supporting HR and sales. You will also be responsible for anticipating and managing legal risks to the business and instructing external legal counsel where necessary. BAU work encompasses grievances, disciplinaries, contract updates, legal updates, handbook updates and liaison with compensation and benefits teams based in the US. There will also be specific employment projects.

You will ideally be 8-12 PQE+ and have qualified in the UK but with international exposure. In-house experience would be useful but is not essential. You must have diverse and complex HR involvement and experience of IR35 and managing contractors.

Experience in technology is not a must have for this role. You will need to be adept at navigating a multi-jurisdictional and highly global environment as well as possess the interpersonal skills to build solid relationships across the business.

The working environment is incredibly flexible so working from home and more remotely is possible. You will work in an entirely autonomous role and manage your own diary and time. The remuneration package on offer is extremely competitive.
