Our client is a global professional services organisation.

 

You will play an integral part in delivering high quality legal advice to our global client base, including in the fields of commercial law, data protection, regulatory and financial services.

 

This law firm works with some of the most recognisable names in the Consumer/FMCG/Hospitality sectors.

 

A small collegiate team works globally on matters often found in the biggest city firms.

 

This role will focus on advising clients on commercial and regulatory legal matters as part of a team of three.

 

This is a friendly and supportive environment led by senior lawyers with a wealth of experience in the industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Drafting and negotiating transactional commercial agreements as well as drafting standard agreements and terms of business for clients.

 

  • Advising on intellectual property matters and compliance areas such as GDPR and competition law. Experience of the financial services sector would be an advantage but not essential.

 

  • Advising on regulatory areas such as FATCA/CRS, DAC 6, ICO registration and registration of overseas entities.

 

  • Working closely with clients, identifying ways in which we can develop the relationship and ensure client retention.

 

  • Work closely with international contacts from overseas offices, law firms and other professionals.

 

  • Identify, promote and develop business development opportunities wherever possible and to keep clients informed of new products, services and changes in legislation.

 

  • Supervise more junior employees, such as paralegals, in the provision of services to clients.

 

  • To work with the sales and marketing teams to raise awareness of offerings through webinars, seminars and social media, producing regular legal updates for clients and provide thought leadership in the form of blogs and articles.

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Ability to confidently deal with a variety of commercial legal matters, including in relation to data protection and intellectual property.

 

  • Willingness and ability to research and take on new regulatory areas of law (for example recent implementation of ROE legislation).

 

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and undertake business development activities.

 

  • Personable and enthusiastic team player, with a professional and commercial outlook.

 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to analyse instructions, understand the issues raised and action the instructions accordingly.

 

 

Relevant Experience

 

 

  • Experience of servicing a broad range of clients in relation to commercial law.

 

  • Expert knowledge of commercial law, including data protection, intellectual property and competition law. Experience of the financial services sector would be an advantage but not essential.

 

  • Experience in providing services to clients: in person, in writing and by telephone.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Solicitors practising certificate for England and Wales.

 

  • 0-2 years PQE commercial solicitor.
