Derivatives Lawyer (2+ yrs. PQE) for Global Investment Bank (WFH/Central London)

Our client is a global investment bank which, despite the current macroeconomic outlook, is performing very well and is in growth mode. One of several focal points of growth is the cash equities and equity derivatives business, who are now looking for a junior/mid-level lawyer to join their team. The successful candidate will join a sophisticated, market-leading business and perform a role with real scope, encompassing advisory work, transaction structuring and execution support.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide product support across the full deal life cycle on equity, fund, index and hybrid derivative transactions;
• Advise on the development/drafting of documentation related to highly structured and bespoke transactions which are completely new to the market, and which may be secured or unsecured structures;
• Provide support to the indices business when required, who develop and create new indices for the bank, to bolster the offering of the index platform;
• Assist on major strategic transactions, such a book buybacks or M&A transactions with a derivatives/cash equity element.

In terms of skill set, the successful candidate will:

• Have 2+ years PQE, with solid derivatives/structured products experiences (ideally with some exposure to equity derivatives work, though this is not a pre-requisite);
• Likely hail from one of the top City law firms, or from a relevant team within another in-house financial services organisation;
• Be familiar with regulatory developments (encompassing ESG) which affect this arena of the market.
